CHARLOT is driven by a deep need to understand. After writing her debut album Lost Like Alice, in which she wandered through questions of meaning and identity, she discovers in her new work that identity may not be what truly matters.

Inspired by psychology and Eastern philosophy, she realizes she has strayed a bit from what is essential: her first love for creating itself, the practice of (self-)compassion, and the ability to remain in a state of wonder and curiosity. Her new music emerges when she turns inward and slows down, in a world that keeps rushing on.

The band likes to describe their sound as “cinematic art-pop” (or “cinemapop”): music that feels like a film. With a strong emphasis on visual storytelling, hypnotic layers of synths, and vocals that feel intimate and mystical. On stage, this grows into a multidisciplinary performance—an immersive, dreamlike world where music and art come together.

In recent years, CHARLOT and her band were named the #2 best act at Noorderslag by 3voor12 (“CHARLOT and her band are ready for bigger venues”). They have performed at Lowlands, supported Froukje at AFAS Live and the Lotto Arena, and toured with their own show across the Netherlands and Belgium.
